THE Whatsapp will allow to put contacts via QR Code in next versions of the app. Messenger is testing a tool capable of generating and reading code to facilitate people-to-business conversations within the app. Newness is available at WhatsApp Beta for Android and iPhone and in the trial version of Business WhatsApp for iOS.
The messenger started releasing the QR Code tool to users on Thursday (21). According to the WABetaInfoThe feature, which has been waiting for over a year, is available on the latest versions of WhatsApp Beta and WhatsApp Business Beta.
This new feature promises to reduce the time to add contacts in the messenger. Instead of typing into a phone, messaging app users will be able to use the smartphone’s camera to read QR codes and add new numbers to the phone’s contacts. Then just send a message to that person or company.
The new functionality comes in the same week since the encrypted backup for iCloud, in the iPhone app. Messenger also recently started releasing integrations with the Facebook Room, to create and join voice and video calls with up to 50 participants.
The tool to add contacts via QR Code is not expected yet in the final versions of the app.
