Carrying a TV out to the backyard to watch a ball game at a barbecue might not be a good idea, after all, this type of device is not designed for outdoor operation. But Samsung The Terrace One exception: it is one 4K QLED smart TV specially developed for use in open environments.
The novelty was announced in 55, 65 and 75 inch versions. In addition to the QLED panel with 4K resolution, they all come with IP55 certification. This means the TV has protection against water and dust. Of course, this is how The Terrace allows for weather conditions that may occur outdoors, such as dust blowing or sudden rain.
But also make sure that the user experience is positive in open spaces. Sunlight can, for example, blow out the screen. To avoid this kind of problem, Samsung The Terrace has a brightness level of 2,000 nits. In addition, the screen also has anti-glare technology.
In terms of connectivity, the TV has three HDMI ports, a USB port, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Sound experiences can be complemented with The Terrace Soundbar which, in addition to its powerful sound, also has IP55 certification.
Other features include Tizen operating system supporting Samsung TV Plus service (allowing access to 120 channels for free), Samsung Health (a tool to monitor health and well-being parameters) and Samsung voice assistant. Bixby, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
The Samsung The Terrace series will officially launch on June 5 in the United States and Canada with prices as follows:
- 55-inch terrace: $ 3,455;
- 65-inch Terrace: $ 4,999;
- 75-inch terrace: $ 6,499.
The Terrace Soundbar sells for $ 1,199.
It is known which line will be rolled out in other countries in 2020, but for now, there is no word on availability in Brazil.
